As Built documentation
The checklist of evidence that could be compiled to enable builders and building control to demonstrate compliance with Part L (April 2006) requires many Builders' Submissions.
Infrared imaging could be used to add weight to builders' submissions where:
- accredited details have not been rigorously documented
- as satisfactory documentary evidence of site inspection
- visual evidence of satisfactory commissioning of heating and hot water systems
- to illustrate energy efficient operation for Operating and Maintenance instructions.
Additional uses of infrared imaging in relation to as build documentation include:
- Document as-built or post-repair/restoration conditions
- Protect against frivolous complaints
- Provide evidentiary basis for fair settlements
- Provide competitive advantage as part of marketing material.
